Converting a settee/pilot berth to a dinette.

Ive got to tear out the port settee/pilot berth to rebuild a rotted bulkhead. Ive toyed with the idea of building a dinette in this area for along time. Ive got the general idea of how to go about building this, but im just not sure if i should or not. There seems to be plenty of space to build it. It is 6-1/2' between the bulkheads. I figure i can do the seats so they stick out 20'' each from the bulkheads. That leaves me 38'' wide for he table. I think this will be plenty of space.

Here is a picture of the area. This is before i built the pilot berth.

Funny. I just finished tearing out a dinette to put in a settee and a pilot berth. The grass is always greener.........

Well im putting a pilot berth on the other side behind that settee. Ive also got a nice quarter berth. I just want a good solid table.
