dodger adivce

I'm looking for a referral to a company that designs and installs custom companionway dodgers.
I reviewed some old posts that referred to the Iverson Design company in Washington and a picture of one of their dodgers. It looked and sounded like a top quality product. I want heavy duty material that is made to withstand the toughest elements. I will not be folding or removing except to zip out windows for hot weather.

My dodger is from them (Iverson) (came with the boat) and is top notch. Easy to care for and use. I'd use them if I was to purchase one and recommend them.

Another nice dodger I've seen, similar to the Iverson, is the Artful Dodger.

However, I believe they, like Iverson, are a PacNW company. I'm not sure either will visit your boat on the East Coast. Unless we're talking about a mass-produced dodger for a mass-produced boat, I really think the canvas-maker needs to come to the boat for measurements and fitting.

Sailnet member "Maine Sail" (formerly known as HaleKai) has posted photos of work done by an outfit in MAine that he highly recommends and looks to be impressive quality workmanship. But I don't know if they go mobile on the East Coast or not.

The company that Maine Sail recommend is only local to Maine, but if you're going to be cruising in the North East, a trip to Maine may solve the problem.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

I can highly recommend Annapolis North Sails, as they not only did a fantastic job of redesigning our Dodger, Bimini & connector but do so in a timely fashion having it installed within 2 weeks. I had originally contracted with another sail/canvas loft, but after 4 months they hadn't even started it.

They are now in the process of making us new mainsail and pedestal covers as well as a full winter boat cover.

Iverson

The Iverson literature is clear that you must bring the boat to them.
I should be in Maine by next August so any references there might be helpful to me. thanks for your inputs.

While I haven't used either of these two vendors, they look like good possible choices.

Gemini Canvas

MobileCanvas, which I believe is the vendor that Maine Sail would recommend in Maine. (Rod, correct me if I'm wrong on this and I'll edit it)

We built a new dodger 2 years ago and also some covers - (wheel/binnacle, winch, etc) and we've been very happy with the construction and service from Fairclough Sailmakers - FAIRCLOUGH SAILMAKERS INC. - who are located in West Haven Connecticut. They also make boat covers for the non-shrink wrap crowd in the Northeast etc.
