You are getting excellent advice; one design problem not yet mentioned to consider is the original head which has a tendency to develop a hole under the thermostat housing. Moyer Marine has redesigned the head to eliminate this problem and should be considered if your plans include any serious dependence on the engine. Otherwise, remove the thermostat housing and poke around under it for a hole; amazingly, the engine will continue to run with a small hole but not well and not at all as it expands.
