Powering PoE Wi-Fi Device

I'm looking at installing an Engenius EOC-3220EXT (EOC-3220 EXT - EnGenius Datacom Products) wireless bridge on my boat so I can pick up lower strength wireless signals. Apparently, this unit is fairly popular in the cruising community. It uses Power Over Ethernet (PoE), and as such it comes with an AC/DC power injector (AC to 48vDC/0.7A. Does anyone have any recommendation on how I can power it using the 12vDC side of the house instead? I found this - 12VDC to 48VDC PoE Kit - Power over Ethernet (PoE) Conversion Kit - and am thinking it may work. Thoughts?

It should work but really using bridges seems like an overkill - plus . Why not go with a high-power Wi-Fi adapter with external antenna?

Personally, you could do better just buying a normal home version. Seems a bit overkill on the marketing and its not up to the tech standards. A Cisco branded unit (from Linksys or other) would allow you to cut the power adapter and run it to your dc control panel and run at 12 VDC...

Brak/Jody - I have multiple laptops on our boat and we want to use any one of them at any point. I also want a high power unit to associate to as many APs as possible. For the moment, I have a Kyocera KR2 EVDO router that allows me to plug my Verizon EVDO card in one side and is wireless B/G on the other. In the Bahamas, my Verizon card will be too expensive to use, so I'm looking to replace the existing bridge with something else. I've talked to a number of cruisers and it appears as if this particular unit is somewhat popular. It's significantly less than a Cisco wireless bridge (by many multiples), and has a detachable antenna. Several of the people I spoke with actually place the entire unit at the top of the mast. At under $150, it's a pretty good deal.
