What is this on my boat?

Hi,

I found this stuff among spinnaker sheets and spinaker guy ropes for my symmetrical spinnekr. Would anyone know what is this for?

looks like some kind of rubber snuber. the cable is there to keep connected incase the rubber parts. i wonder if its meant to hold down on the pole, but give some give to it

You could use it as a 'preventer' to keep the boom from jibing when the spin is up. It does not look like a 'twing' setup for either the sheet or guy.

For holding onto when people get lifted (ride the sail) when anchored. Mostly the younger set I believe.
