Should I Use Transducer Paint or just Antifoul?

Hi All

I have just added a raymarine ST40 Bidata - depth and speed log.

I now want to antifoul them - and whilst I am aware there is specific transducer paint... I would prefer to use the same antifoul as the rest of the boat so I know it will last until next time I haul out.

The previous paddle wheel was coated in the same antifoul as the rest of the boat and seems to have lasted ok...

Just wondering what the life expectancy on the transducer specific antifoul is like and what experiences everyone has.

Any thoughts? Usual antifoul or transducer specific?

The transducer and paddle wheel are plastic parts. Regular anti-fouling pants are solvent based paints and thereby harmful to plastic. Transducer paint is water based the same thing as Hydrocoat.
