Impeller hrs

So glad to read others have had negative experiences with the Globe impeller as I thought it was just me. Put a new Globe in the raw water pump and it failed to prime, took it out, checked everything, put it back in and still failed to prime. Pulled out a new black rubber Volvo branded impeller, installed and it primed right away. I'll not be buying Globe again.

I change out our Jabsco pump impeller once a year, and keep the old one as a spare if it looks good. I've heard that in a pinch a paper gasket can be made from a brown paper bag...sounds resonable to me.
