vhf radio suggestion

My old radio died after about ten years. I have been using my standard horizen hand held in the last season. What do people like for a built in radio to replace my old.

Thanks

I'd go with a new Class D DSC-capable unit that has two separate receivers as well as NMEA 0183 input and output. Icom, Raymarine, Standard Horizon all make units fitting this description. If you've been happy with your SH handheld....why not get a fixed unit from them.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

I have a SH 3000 series with DSC and a fog horn. Very nice radio, I'm very happy with it. It also has a remote mike option, which is nice for the cockpit.
