SS Zerks

Groco suggests you can replace the drain plug for a SS zerk and grease the seacock plug.
My internet search has, at best, turned up 304 stainless instead of 316.
Grainger only has 440! Defender, Jamestown, West don't show anything in their on-line catalogs.

Any sources for 316 SS zerks? 1/8 - 27 NPT is the drain plug size on all Grocos.

The only issue with Monel is that it may cause galvanic corrosion issues, depending on what you're putting in into.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Mcmaster Carr:
Monel $7.22
303 stainless $1.68

This is for 8 Groco bronze seacocks. Replacing the drain plug with zerks to keep them lubed per Groco's advice.

I've got another source of 304 Stainless at a similar price to the 303.

Too many choices! What to do? What to do?

metal composition and percentages. 316 is the most corrosion resistant of the three....but weakest as well IIRC.

I doubt monel will cause a problem since it will not be submerged and the business end is covered in grease. Monel is also used for prop shafts if you really want to spend money. It is highly corrosion resistant.
