Perhaps you're not familiar with the history. Sailnet has an "if you want to advertise, you have to pay for it" policy. Craig has pushed the limits on that numerous times, at one point being given an extended "time out" to contemplate his behaviour. So what does he do when he gets back on? He requests photos of boats using his company's anchor, then starts a separate thread thanking people for the pictures and pointing to the gallery.
No, no advertising there.

If they're going to advertise, that is the policy.
Sailnet has given Craig a lot of latitude. Some members, some mods, included, believe that, as a gesture of good will, Craig's company reciprocate by supporting the site financially.
