I picked up the previous Olympus SW generation at Costco - looks like they have the current 1030 SW at $309. I'll vouch for this camera - it's a must have for a guy that has lost digitial cameras to dropping, water, and cocktail spills...

Crushproof it is, sat on it several times, luckily I am not even close to approaching the 220 lb. rating!

Really happy with the SW 1030, got a 5 year unlimited extended warranty also for like $49.00

I also bought the silicone cover, keeps it from sliding around and getting dinged/scratched and probably helps with the waterproof capability as well.

Where'd you get the silicone cover??? I'd love to get one for my camera.

BTW, should know about the ST60 this weekend.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

I've go ta Pentax Optio W-60 underwaer camera and love it. I've had mine for about 2 years now and zero problems. It's just like the Olypmus except it only goes to 13ft underwater... but it'll also save your pocket book a little bit so if your not looking to dive thsi is a great camera, also take great pic's out of water and everywhere in between.

Dan, can you take photos underwater with it? Like when I dive to see the keel?

Can you get me one when I visit the US next month?

GUI-

I'd recommend the 1030 SW for you... I'll find a good price for it and send you a PM with the price.

If you can swim at 14 knots... I'll be really, really, really, impressed...
