Rainwater catcher designs?

Hey,
Has anyone come up with a good rainwater catcher design? I'm starting to think of options, but don't want to reinvent the wheel. Seems like it would be nice to arrange for filtration somehow. I'm surprised that no one has marketed such a gizmo.

Good question, I could easily divert my scuppers to a tank but how to filter out the bird stuff and other dirt?

The problem is that the best rain catcher design is going to vary from boat to boat. A good one would be a boom tent or bimini top that has a rain drain or gutters on them. This could lead to a deck top or cabin top water cistern that has a filtered out put to a water tank inside the boat.

My boat just isn't good for a permanent / gutter installation, so I went with a canvass rectangle with a funnel in it.

It works well, and after all my procrastination, it was not difficult to make. (And therefore would also be cheap to have made if you don't have the tools/skills). The most important thing is understanding the right size for your boat.
