Battery Acid vs the Basement

I don't know how big your spill is....
Yes you can clean the acid up using baking soda (Yes good ole Arm and Hammer) with water.
Put some baking soda on the spot. Don't be shy it is cheap. Then collect the results. Put down more soda and add a bit of water...not too much...just enough so you can move it around and clean with it.
Do not use a shop vac to clean up. Use plastic tools.. cut them out of old plastic like soda bottles or yogurt containers. Any rags you use throw out.
Wear gloves and eye protection if there is alot of acid.
You will know you have it clean when you put down a little baking soda mixed w/water ( a slurry) when it does not bubble at all you are done.
Put all the junk in a plastic bag and discard.
If you are wearing cotten clothes like jeans etc and you see holes after the next wash you will know where they came from... but better there than your eyes... also if you feel any burning sensation on your skin... lots of water and baking soda....
