Question slugs

I am confused about what sail slug to use with a mast mate. The track in my mast is 5/16" wide. The slugs available at chandleries like West are sized with certain "diameters" but they do not specify the size of the waist of the slugs. Is this a uniform dimension? What diameter should I purchase for this application?

Why don't you measure the slugs on your mainsail, and use the same for the MastMate, since they're both going to be using the same track.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Sailingdog's got it. I measured the slugs on my mainsail and then purchased those for my Mastmate. If you can't find the right ones locally, check out's where I went.
