Transmission removal Nicholson 31 - 2QM20

I have apparently croaked the clutch.

Can anyone tell me for certain whether or not the transmission will come our over the top of the engine in this particular boat? I posted on the Nic 31 forum but it's not a very active group.

As I will be doing this myself, knowing beforehand will help immensely in planning the project.

If I have to remove the engiine then I will postpone this nightmare until I have time and means to do a bunch of other stuff at the same time.

You will have to measure it up. That is a very tough call.

well I can measure and guess and ponder and eat more salad but when I get the trans wedged at the top of the engine it's going to be very dissappointing.


Of the 120 Nic 31s made, I beleive about half came with that engine (they switched to the 2GM20 later in production)

So between owners, former owners and yard workers, there is someone out there who can say for certain if it will or will not come out.

And that person is probably on this forum.......
