Pulling a Hurth Transmission
 
I just pulled the little Hurth 100 transmissin of our Westerbeke W21 yesterday. The tranny needs to go off for repairs and I thought you all might enjoy seeing 360 degree photos of the little lump of metal for future reference. Pix at...

No big deal to unbolt and the whole things weighs about 20 pounds or about $50/pound new!!!

I would strongly advise replacing the damper plate and it's retaining bolts while you are in there! Also if you have any oil in the bell housing, tough to tell from the photos, you might try to figure out if it is the rear main seal or if it is coming from above..
