Yanmar 2QM20 tranmission- substitutions?
I damaged my transmission. Ultimately I guess I will rebuild it but I've found several good deals on used gear boxes for other Yanmar engines- specifically a 2GM, YSM12
Even if it were not the ideal replacement, my sailing is pretty tame compared to what this boat was made for so if the trans bolts in and works it should meet my needs for a season.
Are they interchangeable? Bolt pattern? shaft coupling?
