That what I use but it 's not led.
You can get an LED replacement bulb for a Davis megalight here:

Replacement LED bulbs for your Davis Mega Light

Works very well. Brighter than original bulb, draws less power, still works with auto on/off. Very nice.

I assume it is for anchoring.

You can fill it with citranella(?) oil and it will keep the bugs away.

That's what I use, except the oil is for a tikki torch. Lasts surprisingly long, and didn't blow out in a 15 knt breeze. I use it as my anchor light. Lash it to the backstay and end of the boom. I have a pic if you like. Cost is about $15 including shipping. Draws 0 amps.

Unless you can remove the unit, I highly recommend you reconsider this flood light idea. It will slow you down!!! Your boat will sail like an old sandal!

If you're looking for a light for when you are enjoying the evening in the cockpit, I recommend Weems and Plath Yacht Lamp. It provides more than just light, but atmosphere. And you can't beat its power consumption.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

The search is over. Just be careful what you stick into the socket.

Thank you guys...I really appreciate the ideas..some I like some I don't.

I will be at the Chicago sjhow next week and will look some more.

In the mean time, went to the Walmart...and had a blast..biught a whole bunch of camping led lights that will do the trick and I can remove off the boat!!

I like the idea of the lights in the comings!

I may just do that, too.

Thanks
