nope thats not my Galatea. lets see if i can attach a photo yet. ill tr to place a link. If this work ill add photos of my engine including the wet exhaust bend.

Exhaust hose is not securely on the elbow and you obviously have multiple exhaust / coolant / oil leaks but this would not stop the engine from running. How can you work in this mess. A thorough clean-up will make maintenance and problem solving a whole lot easier. First get it looking like my engine room and then start again.

wow that is clean. You are on the money i have an oil leak and a water leak but again like you say should not stop th engine from running. i am not about to lie and say i have a clean engine room at all its a bit of a mess and i do need to do some serious cleaning and organizing. I have been trying for about a year to make sense of all the electrical lines that appear to go everywhere and no where i believe the previous owner just ran new line and never pulled the old . before the hurricane i had a really ice wind gen and there were four electrical lines running to it and non were attached to the battery or wind gen.

When I bought our boat I could not make sense of anything until I cleaned it up (degreaser and pressure washer) and removed three big green garbage bags of wire that did nothing. Life was so much easier after I did that and putting hinges on the hatches made a much bigger diiference than most would believe.

believe it or not i am on it as we speak. i am currently tracing every wire i can find. ill get to the washing next. i have a few book on their way that will hopefully help me out wit the engine problems. and i found a company in Florida that supplies Sabb parts. They said that the engines are very popular with commercial life boats. other than that they do not see sales to pleasure craft owners at all. makes me wonder how my boat ended up with this engine.
