Thank you for the feedback!

As a matter of fact, quite a few users asked about that.

Part of the problem is that legally we are prohibited from making a product that prints out some charts (such as S63 charts, and perhaps some other types we hope to add in the future). So, having a print option would require to make it quite smart to avoid printing data that can't be legally printed. I am not sure what the status of NOAA charts is in this regard, but in general many chart copyright holders want to strictly limit what happens with the data that is being shown.

In fact, if you read the language of S63 chart agreement, even explaining to the user how it can be done without providing technical capability (i.e. me telling you about print screen ) would be in violation.

Then of course there are technical issues - making colors and shapes readable on paper is quite different from doing the same on screen.

That's not to say it won't happen - the feature will most certainly be added at some point, but it is on a "long term" TODO list.

...I didn't read the release notes, but I see it now has tide data available. Nice work!

comments on Alpha version

MacOS 10.6.2:

Looks great. No problems loading, etc. Some comments:
  • Top-level menu item should be labeled Route and Waypoint manager
  • It should be possible to right-click a waypoint and get info.
  • Waypoints don't show up as objects displayed with cmd-I
  • When reloading saved waypoints, they don't show on the chart
  • saved routes do not conserve waypoints that were used to define them, only Lat/Long coords
  • top-level menu "About" should show version number for feedback info
oops - I was running from the .dmg. Once I copied to Applications I now see the version number in "about", other comments still valid
