Re-glazing ABI bronze ports

I have a Liberty Pied Piper with 8 ABI bronze ports. In all of them, the glass, which is a laminated safety type glass, have clouded from UV exposure to the film used to make the glass "safety". I can buy replacement glass and gaskets from Sailboat Stuff.
Question: has anyone re-glazed ABI ports? The gasket looks easily removable but the glass seems bedded in a type of mastic. Anybody know what this stuff is and how easy(??!!) the job might be?

I'm also working on rebedding by ABI port lenses. My first problem is removing the hinges after loosening the hex screws. Would love that and any other advice on this!
