D-Star

Anyone, anyone ?

D-Star radios are coming down in price, has anyone tried it yet ?

D-Star repeaters have started to show up in a few places ...

Edit - Forgot to say what it was for people who may not have heard of it. I guess you'd say it was a new mode (?), or maybe system would be better, for digital voice and data on the amateur bands. People are starting to set up repeaters just like the old voice repeaters, except instead of making voice calls from a radio people are setting up network data connections over radio, connections that can reach as far as VHF radio ... sort of like amateur radio super wifi, except non-commercial, and slower.

windward54 is on a distinguished road
I had the chance to try one a little while back. Nice clean audio on it. Only problem was there are not a lot of repeaters around
