Gas Tanks To Diesel Tank

Ok next question we siphoned the gas out of the tank over the weekend. Questions is what is the best way to get all the gas out of the tank I think there is about 1/2 gallon of gas in there, tank is 29 gallons, do I just dump a couple gallos of diesel in and siphon it out to remove the rest and I will be ok? The tank is new 2 years ago and made of stainless steel. Do I need to use anything special for the fittings on the tank, currently fill is plastic, shut-off is brass, and the barbs are copper, the vent barb was turning green under the hose? Thanks

Gas will happlşy burn with diesel. It is not necessary to clean all the gas in the tank. Fill with diesel and use it.
