Deck Recore

Here up north it's that time of the year when we start planning our spring projects.
I am going to fix the deck on my Pearson 26 where the hinges are on the forward hatch.
Does anyone know what thickness end grain balsa was used in the decks on a Pearson 26 (1975).
Thanks,
David
