Don't give up on the Atomic Bomb. Those engines are hard to kill.

The engine oil also lubricates the tranny in an A4. If you've replaced the engine oil you've taken care of the tranny as well.

Angry

I thought on a v-drive the transmission was lubricated independently of the engine??
What a pain in the butt - the ice is slowly melting with a heater in there in additionh to chipping away at it. Fingers crossed..

I don't think you mentioned previously that you had a v-drive. Some A4s have only one oil fill and the engine oil lubricates the transmission. Others have a separate fill back by the dipstick. If you've got that then yes, you do have separate oil supplies.

Mine doesn't have that so I can't be much more help. Drop by the Moyer Marine site and ask around there.

Walters v-drive take the engine oil if memory serves me properly. As posted it's hard to get the bomb to explode. I lived with one for nearly 20, and it served me well under many different, and sometimes stressful situations......i2f

20 MPH ain't fast unless, you do it in a 1000sq 3/2 house on 10foot waves
