new motor for this year

along with being a new sailor I am also a member of the antique outboard motor club. I am known for showing up at the "yacht" club with older vintage motors and running them. My boat is smaller than most of the people's boat I sail with. I have a 17 ft day sailer.

Most of the people I sail with are sailing 22 Catalinas and 25ft Hunters so my boat under motor will usually out run them. My 1967 6hp Chrysler was out running their 8hp last year. But that motor is way too new. I have spent the winter going over a 1953 Wizard to run this year.

Freddyray,

That is neat stuff. I have a late '50s-early '60s Seagull that awaits attention in my garage. Someday I'm going to get to it -- your post inspires me.
