We could not resist Defenders sale last week and purchased the Tack Tick T104 Sailing Set...$1900 and change...plus they throw in the remote ($600 value) for free (rebate through TT). I'll be sure to post the pros and cons.

Now...where the heck am I going to mount them

Here you go Chef, mount them above the companionway so you can actually see them

I'm guessing you are Keel Stepped so depending on the way your wires exit the mast it may be possible to leave it up.
On my deck stepped C320 the 'junction boxes' for all the wiring were just up inside the bottom of the mast and there was also a giant ball of sealant at the deck level which the wires passed through so it would have to be pulled or at least suspended for a while...
On my NC the Seldon mast is deck stepped like a trailer sailer in that the wires exit the mast at the deck and pass though a dorade box water stopping setup to enter the cabin so it would be possible to leave the mast up.
It all depends on your setup.....

I have the same problem with my wind instrument. After 26 years the digital wind speed can hardly be read. I have had to repair about 6 Raymarine systems in the last year so I'm not too keen on it, all were under 3 years old. So I decided to purchase the newer version of DMI Marine instruments even though the expense was alittle more. The last ones lasted 26 years so if the new ones last half as long I will be happy.

Chef....I have the same system T104 on my Tartan 41, and have had excellent use so far, just recently interfaced them with my Garmin GPS...Gotta love modern electronics, and yes I know how to use a sextant, so I don't start that debate.
