Equalization Charger

I need to equalize my house battery bank, which are Lifeline 6V AGMs wired in series (300AH). The Lifeline manual specifies a 15.5V constant charge for 8 hours.

My permanent charger does not have an equalization setting and I don't care to run my engine for 8 hours to use the alternator. So, I am looking for a portable charger with a equalization program that meets the Lifeline requirements.

I've only found one solution, a Duracel Power (made by Xantrex)...but its equalization program runs at 15.6 volts. Here is the link: Xantrex Technology Inc. - Boats - Duracell® 15 AMP Battery Charger - Documentation. Is this close enough, do I need to worry about that extra .1V?

What other solutions are out there?

West Marine makes a very nice little portable charger which should do the trick for you. It comes in three models; the 30A model is the most appropriate for your 300AH AGM bank, and includes a manually-selectable equalization cycle in addition to smart charging. Cost is about $179. Sometimes, these go on sale for less.

30A Portable Battery Charger, 6"L x 12"W x 10.75"H, 10.75lb. from WEST MARINE
