Suggestion: Cruising with a BBQ Grill
Just a suggestion for those cruising outside the US having a BBQ grill... we have a Magma grill and it's been great. Today, we twisted the regulator and it broke, so now we're grill-less until we find a new regulator in the Bahamas. We're heading to Nassau tomorrow, so we're hopeful we'll find one there, but otherwise we'll have to figure out how to have one shipped in and pay the huge shipping costs ($60+) for UPS or Fedex since regular mail takes 3-4 weeks to get here. Too bad timing sucks - my wife's parents are flying in from the states tomorrow, so if it broke yesterday we could have had them stop by West Marine and bring one with them. Most of our cooking is done on the BBQ to keep the heat out of the boat.
Anyway, the suggestion? Bring an extra regulator and other parts for your BBQ among your spares if you plan on depending on it. I didn't think of spares for it before we left the US.
