mgiguere is on a distinguished road
Hello Captain:

I have a Volvo 2002 (one less cylinder), but check to see if the plastic gear connected to the fly wheel (that turns the impeller) is broken--thus not turning the shaft. It happened to me once, and is fairly easy to fix. The plastic gear that drives the pump is plastic on purpose as I discovered since if the water there is frozen, the plastic gear breaks before doing serious damage to the flywheel (which would be a major problem, of course)

Do you know if the cooling pipe in the tranny is a coil, or a straightish run? If it's not a coil perhaps you can get a piece of welding rod (the TIG type, not the insulated arc type) and try to feed it through.

Barring that, can you get a small portable compressor and put some real pressure behind the blockage? I'd try the reverse flow direction first...
