Plywood replacement

I have a 1966 Islander 37 and a good deal of the plywood is delaminating. Most of it I know how to deal with but what do I do with the plywood on the sides of the cabin top. Can I rip out the old wood and glue or epoxy a new piece in place or would just putting a new piece over the old plywood be my best bet?
