I have had SH 850S for a year or so. It's a great radio - the ultimate dinghy radio in today's market. Outstanding bit of kit. I got mine from Defender for around 190 USD I think.

I bought from SN in the old days, prices haven't been competitive lately so I go elsewhere, but do usually check here. YMMV

Cam as a friend, Lately you have taken every opportunity you can to take shots against Sailnet. You are starting to sound like a grumpy old man who can't let go of a grudge. A businesses decision was made that you didn't like, but it is not your company to run. Your statement is very unfair to Sailnet in regards to new members and guests who do not know the history.

Is this group buy still happening or is it dead? Reason I ask is that I have a bunch of gift cards to use up somewhere, and I can use them either on the VHF or on another purchase...if the group buy is active, I'll defer the VHF purchase...if not, then sorry Sailnet!

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Hey everybody,

As an update: The SailNet store will offer a group purchase price for 15 units or more.

The price would be $195.95.

This is a very competitive and fair price -- slightly more than they pay for them.

I own this unit and have been very pleased with it. Besides the many hi-tech safety features incorporated into this unit, I especially like that it floats -- given my habit of dropping things overboard

I've asked Bene505 to contact me when we have 15 confirmed participants. If you are serious about getting a full-featured handheld VHF at a good price, now's the time to speak up!!

HEY NOW!!

Or you can just wait for me to drop it overboard. It may float, but that doesn't mean I'll be able to recover it!

John - does that price include tax & shipping. There is a $190 group buy also in effect. Every little penny counts.

Tax and shipping are variable, so I doubt it. I expect they will calculate that for each individual when the order is placed depending on where they ship to.

I don't doubt that you might find it a bit cheaper elsewhere. But here's an opportunity to support the company that makes this forum possible, if you're so inclined.
