Echo Charger

I have bought a Xantrex echo charger to charge my starting battery from the main bank. I like the idea that has been presented in porevious posts. The charger has instructions for 12v/24volt

Two questions

1. I have a house bank of 6 105 6v trojans. Can I connect the charger leads to the positive of one of the 6 volts and the negative of the other 6 volt on the ones i have in series, which then go to the starter battery of same .

2. I know you are not supposed to mix batteries in a charging network bit can the leads go to a 12 volt starting battery or do they have to go to 2- 6 volt ones.

Dave

Short answer...YES! Just keep it from one 12V source (2x6v) to another 12VSOURCE

Indeed. If your Trojans are rigged 3 6v x 2=12 VDC, then this will work fine. Confirm first with a meter that you've got the right wires connected. I have one and my start battery stays happy and 100%.
