Reducing squeaking noise of S1 Wheel Pilot?

I did a bit of Googling and also searched the Raymarine web site and failed to find any real answer to this, but is there any way to reduce the plastic-on-plastic squeaking of the S1 Wheel Pilot?

I've seen comments that it supposedly "breaks in" after awhile, but after about 30 hours of use, mine is still very noisy.

I've tinkered around alot with ensuring it is absolutely centered and no undue forces to interfere with smooth operation, but it drives me crazy with the squeak squeak squeak.

Any ideas?

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

why don't you strip the wheel and see what goes on inside? Maybe the pin that slot thru the wheel is too long and touches the wheel cover? Maybe the belt tensioner not adjusted right?
