This type of roller for painting?

Do you think this type of roller would work well for rolling and tipping? Only about 6 inches long..

It kind of depends...what kind of paint are you rolling and tipping??

Yes - as long as the paint that you are using does not break down the foam. Test one first. Give it at least a half hour for the paint to sit on the roller and then roll it vigourously.

If you don't test and it does start crumbling you will have an expensive mess to clean up.

When you decide to paint, remember to get a " WET MIL GUAGE" Any good paint store will have these credit card sized tool that you dip into the wet paint after you roll it on, it will leave small marks in the wet paint to let you know what thickness you are applying it at. Check the manufacturers recommendations for the wet mill thickness you are to apply the paint, and adjust your technique accordingly. Check often, as when you go, people tend to apply the paint thinner as they go. The tipping will hide the marks from the mill gauge. The type of roller you have pictured will work best on the wet end of the scale, don't roll it too dry, you will end up with many more bubbles.
