I saw a pair of 43ST on Ebay, older version with the black top disc. One of them had a broken ratchet gear and the seller claimed that the parts were available. I contacted Lewmar for a parts quote and I was informed that the 43ST parts were discontinued in 2003. They were manufactured in the early 80's. Lewmar tech support will have an exploded diagram, parts list and installation requirements.

I found a pair of Barient 27-48ST that turned out to be the closest physical match to the regular Barient 25's that I had. A drop in installation, same mounting pattern.

Actually they DID make a 43ST. Past tense. Pair of them on my buddies boat.

Here is a the link to the schematic...

Thanks, if the parts were discontinued in 2003, I probably don't want them! Thank for saving me some aggravation...

The #40 and the #40ST have different mounting hole arrangements? Well, that's sure a clever idea

Were you easily able to just make new holes next to the old ones or did you have to close up the old holes for the new mount?

Thanks...

Like sailor dave said, they did make 43ST, but they are discontinued. I know as they are my primary winches (still solid since 1983!) You can't get many parts for them any more, notably drum bearings. If/when my drum bearings go I'm SOL. pawls and springs are still made though (same P/N across much of the product line).

Dictated, but not read.
