Sealing the tabernacle to the deck.
The tabernacle bolts on my Spindrift 22 seems to have developed a leak. Four bolts run straight through the deck and into the cabin. Water appears to be seaping down one of the screws.

The tabernacle is simply a thick, bent metal sheet. There appears to be some caulking around the tabernacle, but I'm not sure if it is original.

What can I do to this to stop water from leaking through to the cabin? Should there be a seal or gasket between the tabernacle and the deck?

The deck does not appear to have significant damage.

Go to the 'Anything Sailing' forum and look for the sticky note by 'MainSail' entitled, "Sealing the Deck Core from Moisture." He gives a rundown of the procedure with a link to his more detailed article, for solving a problem such as yours.
