Slight water leak under gunwale

It appears I have a small leak under my gunwale wear it meets the fiberglass. There is some mold on the teak gunwale directly above the water trail in the cabin so I am suspecting the teak has rotted away some (the boat is a '69 Morgan) allowing the water to find some crack in the fiberglass. My question is to how best correct this without taking off the gunwale? I was thinking of using some clear epoxy. I can get to the fiberglass from the inside but don't know if that would be as thorough or correct as putting the epoxy on the gunwale itself which even though clear would look noticeably bad.
