I've finally finished sanding the deck after pulling the canvas and the varnish removal is 98% done.
The decks were ok except that one chainplate area.
The foredeck is good...
and aft is better than I thought it would be.
Now it's time to sand and seal the bright work, finish stripping the hull, pull the sticks and the engine. I'm gonna seal the deck too before applying the Sanitred.
Well, Jody showed up and got the AC wired up with a new breaker while I continued to sand and detail the edges. I also managed to get the port handrail off. The giant globs of 5200 promise to be more of an issue though....
Thanks Charlie (everyone)- let me know if there any issues with the new wiring (do not expect any; however, none the less). At any rate glad I was out there - and yep she is coming along pretty fine. Wish I was making as much progress; but, at least now I have an excuse(s) for the time being...
Thanks John. The back is better this week and has recovered from my tweaking it last week. Jody's a good pal. I'm putting down CPES to seal and then going with Sanitred over that as it's waterproof, UV proof and flexible. I have an idea about that chainplate and adding exterior isn't on the list. She came around the horn the wrong way with the one's she has so I think they'll be fine.
I've said it before, but I mean it. She is going to be ridiculously beautiful once you finish her and you are total stud for DIYing the work yourself. This is not a refit, its a rebuild and you have my utter respect for saving this beauty.
