Anchor Chain

Hi,

We are in process of upgrading our ground tackle. Will be cruising Mexico and beyond in the near future. Want our system to be able to handle whatever needs we encounter. Have decided that for our primary we want all chain. Question is for a Fairweather Mariner/Westsail 39 appx.20K 1b. what is your opinion as to 3/8 vs 5/16 and high test vs BBB 200-300'' with a 60ld Bruce as our primary. Secondary is a 35lb CQR currently with 50''BBB and 150'' rode. For crusing Mex what chain and length would you feel super comfy with?
