Portland Pudgy Retailer
I was trying to get mor einformation on the Portland Pudgy to no avail. I emailed the company directly twice. I called once, left a message and no response.

Anyone know of a retailer who carries them who could answer a few questions? If you have a pudgy, how are you liking it?

We are currently doing the dinghy research andneed to make a decision in the next couple of months or so. I know the pros and cons of inflatables, RIBs and port-a-botes, just now starting to research hard dinghies and so far I am intrigued by the pudgy, I just need to find out some specs, pricing, etc.

Thanks Cam, going to check it out.
RXbot, I've contacted them through their site but get no response- either by phone or by email.

I need pricing information for the boat as well as the various options.
I want to know what HP engines have been used by actual users. The HP rating listed seems a bit low to be useful, curious to see what actual users have used safely.
I'm also interested in seeing how the Pudgy works with davits, not Weavers as we have no swim step.

The lack of communication from the manufacturer and the fact that it is really difficult to find a retailer is making me second guess this as an option. It might be that the company is just too new and has too many kinks yet to work out.

Portland Pudgy response
My apologies for not getting you information, but we can not find your e-mail. We did have a computer a short time ago virtually blow up and your e-mail might have been at that time. Please check our web-site. The Portland Pudgy is a multifunction dinghy a fun boat that could save your life. Contact us for price and accessory information at Phone 207-761-2428 or 207-712-4027.

The Portland Pudgy is a unique and tough proactive life boat that is designed for the blue water sailor, but also serves as a sturdy functional service dinghy for sailboats or motorboats. Additionally it is a versatile boat for fishing, motoring, and can be converted to a sea friendly sporty sail boat. The Pudgy is a fun and exceptionally safe boat for kids and adults.

The Portland Pudgy is a “system” that has a lot to it. I have attached a new photo from Holland of a red Pudgy. All components of the Pudgy system; sailing rig, oars, CO2 inflated exposure canopy, sea anchor, supplies etc. fit inside the large water tight storage compartment of the sidewalls. Bear in mind also that the boat is unsinkable, and if it were to capsize, which is difficult (making it an excellent dive boat), it can be righted easily using the hand holds on the keel. But, the most significant feature is that the Pudgy comes up dry and empty of water. In the cold waters of Maine sitting in a dry dinghy instead of a wet swamped dinghy can be life-saving

The basic boat is USCG rated for 4 people. 4 people is twice the capacity of other 8 foot boats.

Sorry for the mix up, thanks for the interest.
