I don't see spreaders on your mast or have you not finished rigging it?

Close ... but doesn't look quite like a FD either.

Restoring a Flying Dutchman Sailboat (FD)

Probably too old for a hull number I guess???

RanAweigh, that's a pretty boat in the first pic!

Very Interesting..
I'm off to race the big boat tonight, but I'll update her measurements etc tomorrow !!

definately missing spreaders..
need to talk to selden..
does anyone know of anywhere else to check ??

I'm also having trouble figuring out how to tension the side stays..
I found an article somewhere that suggested that they ran through 90deg bends, to the bow of the boat, then through a roller and a locking device on the front bulkhead..
Has anyone seen that in action ??

Our FD does have a roller in the inside of the bow, and lockers on the front bulkhead, but we assumed they were both for the forestay and jib halyard...

I have no idea why I can not find more info on this boat..
Considering it was an Olympic class, i figured there would be thousands of articles, used sails, parts, hulls, photos , ANYTHING>.

I'm a nerd and search pretty relentlessly.. but not much info..

Ebay has apparantly never sold one ??? WTH ??

Is there a name for this boat that I don't know about ??

I would call this guy http://www.s16.org/new.htm He's making new Sweet 16's here in KC, perhaps he knows about FD's as well.
