convert pressurised to non pressure cooktop

Does anyone know how to or have information on converting a keynon 206 pressurized cooktop to be used as a non- pressureized unit?

It can't be done economicallyh since the hardware is so different. It would cost you more to buy the burners and fabricate the closer flaps than to buy a whole Origo stove.

And a Cookmate stove is even cheaper than the Origo. I only paid CDN$250 for my Cookmate 4200 at the Toronto boat show back in January. I love it.

No I am not affiliated with Cookmate. I just like the fact that the product actually works at a price that isn't outrageous.

Thanks for the responses that is what I thought. I have to have my existing refurbished and the cost when you add in shipping is almost the same as a new.

That is really interesting. I had never heard of Cookmate before but looking at the pictures, it appears to be a very close duplicate of the Origo, right down to the way the fiddles and flame disburser are shaped. In fact the details of the two are so close that I suspect that the Cookmate is being made on licence to Origo.

The Origo and the Cookmate seem to be priced about the same on Defender's website.

They are very similar. In fact, at Holland Marine, they usually sell the Cookmate with Origo potholders. The Origo uses rubber capss that cover the entire burner can when not in use and prevent evaporation, the Cookmate uses a little disc of rubber that is squeezed between the upper level and the burner can when closed to stop evaporation.

Here in Toronto, the Origo is roughly CDN$100 more and the Cookmate comes with a bamboo cutting board standard.
