Removing 3M 101 from fasteners

I'm re-coring my deck and have hundreds of fasteners I want to reuse that are slathered in 3M 101 or equivalent caulk. What is an easy way to strip all the caulk from the fasteners?

I'm soaking a few test pieces in mineral spirits. What will get it off easily (dissolve it) without reacting with the stainless steel?

Thanks.

Once cured you will have to use mechanical mens. A dental pick or similar device works pretty well but depending on how many you have to clean it could be very labor intensive. I always just replace the fasteners, but then again I have not removed all my fixtures at one time. Good luck.
