Profurl LC 32 (info' please)

I have just bought a LC32 reefing gear.with no manual. Have serched the internet without any luck so would be interested to hear from anyone who could give some advice on fitting... What size reefing line? and what side does it leave the drum on? also the oil seal type of bearings seem to have quite a bit of friction on them and have a bit of a rumble when turned by hand.is this OK?.. or Is this last question me being fusy.

The sealed bearing shouldn't really make noise. Did you buy this unit used?

The line should exit on the port side of the drum if your sun cover is sewed on the starboard side of the sail and the starboard side of the drum if the cover is on the port.
It doesn't matter which side of the boat the line is led.
5/16" line is probably about right but you can go larger if you remove the core from the portion that wraps around the drum.

Thanks Knothead,Your link worked well,and It looks like all the info' that I will need is there.Yes I got it second hand, an old one that may have some deteriation in the carbon steel bearings,although suprisingly little signs of ware generaly.But I shall fit new ones if it needs them replacing at some time. Also have a Furlex Type C (older one) That has 8mm S/S balls,open races with greasing spaces.All together different mecanism. Chris.
