What size spinnaker for a 30 foot boat?

Hi All...

I'm looking at used symmetrical spinnakers for my Scampi 30 and I am wondering how big a sail is the biggest I should consider. The sail that came with the boat has 39 foot luffs and a 23 foot wide foot, but i don't know if it is correct. Many of the sails I am seeing are slightly bigger.

My I dimension is 38 feet and my J dimension is 11.8 feet.

That sounds about right. The standard spinnaker for my Northstar 1000 has a 38' luff and 22-1/2' foot and my I and J are 38' and 12-1/2'.

My next spi will be an assymetrical for ease of handling. I singlehand 95% of the time.
