Need Outboard Mechanic in Oxnard/Ventura area

Hi all, I was given an Evinrude outboard, 2 stroke and 25 hp. As you know nothing is really "free", and I am about $200 into it so far. I hope that doesn't sound ungrateful, because I do appreciate the gift. Anyway, I thought it would give my sons a bit more zoom on our 11' inflatable.

The motor starts and runs, but won't idle easily and misses on the higher rpms. That said, I am looking for a good (honest) outboard mechanic in the Oxnard/Venutra/ Los Angeles valley area. Any recommendations?

Thanks, Bill

Bill, I get my outboard serviced at Specialty Marine in Oxnard. While I've only had regular servicing performed on a 5 hp Tohatsu, no major repairs, the place seemed very professional and knowledgeable, they were very friendly, and the owner even offered to deliver my motor (free!) to Santa Barbara where I live!
