Rudder clearance
We purchased our 1982 34 Oday a year ago (1st sailboat). I had her on the hard for a bottom job and noticed the rudder clearance was very close (1/8” to 1/16”) but no rub marks on the hull.
While going under her last week to scrape the prop, I noticed rub marks and that the rudder seems to touch when centered. I did not feel any play while trying to shake it (as best you can with scuba gear on). I have not hit bottom with it either (yet).
I cannot seem to find detailed info on how to adjust the height of the rudder post and I do not want to send the rudder to the bottom by loosening something. Can someone tell me what to look for when I crawl way back in there? Thanks,
