fuel filter priming

I never replaced my own fuel filter on my Atomic 4. I have a Fram cartridge type filter right near the tank. I have heard that it's hard to bleed the air out after replacing...........so does anyone know how I could easily do it?? Does the priming lever alone do the trick?? Thanks, tired of paying the yard!

This will sound crazy but fixed (or masked) a problem on my Universal M4-30 Deisel engine: Put a pump ball in line between the fuel tank and the filter. A few sqeezes and you're done. It also is a great fallback if/when your lift pump fails. You can limp along for as long as you can get your spouse to squeeze your ball. Ahem.
