Kenyon Knotmeter/Log

I have a Kenyon KS 200 knotmeter/log and do not know how to remove the impeller/sending unit, or even if it can be removed from the hull fitting while in the water. Can anyone tell me what the process is to remove the impeller, clean it and put it back in while inthe water?
John
